About Me
I was born and brought up in Thurso, Caithness.
After doing my Highers I joined the Metropolitan Police Cadet Corps in 1976, becoming a Constable in 1978. I served a total of 33 years with The Met,17yrs of which was in the Traffic Division, during which time I attained many driving qualifications including Class 1 Advanced Police Driver and Police Motorcyclist.
I was also an Advanced driving/riding Police Assessor, which required me to ensure that Police Advanced drivers/riders were up to the required standard.
I retired in 2009 having attained the rank of Sergeant in 1990.
I have been a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists since 1981; and an Examiner since 2009. I regularly examine peoples Advanced Driving Tests.
I have been a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor since 2014
I have been married since 1981, we have two daughters and two grand daughters.
My wife and I moved to Aberdeenshire in 2009. I qualified as a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor in 2014. I am fully checked via the Criminal Records Bureau as part of the Qualifying process to become an Approved Driving Instructor. I also voluntarily qualify every 3 years as a First Aider at Work.
I cover Aberdeen City and West Aberdeenshire in particular areas including Inverurie, Oldmeldrum, Kintore, Kemnay, Huntly, Insch, Ellon, Newmachar, Dyce, Balmedie, Whiterashes and Whitecairns. If your area is not listed please contact me to see if I can help
